Palliative care refers to the service provided by an organization or center when hospital or home care is no longer possible after the final stages of cancer. Cancer Care Foundation Rajkot is going to start this type of center in Rajkot to provide compassionate care and support for patients in their final stages (terminally ill), ensuring they receive comfort and dignity.
According to the World Health Organization, nearly 40 million people worldwide need palliative care. Currently, only 14% of patients have access to this care. In India, over a million people are diagnosed with cancer every year, of which 2/3 are diagnosed at advanced stages. Many of them require palliative care, but only 2% of them have access to this treatment.
We have a dream to build the world’s best palliative care hospital with both modern and traditional facilities within a year, offering these services free of cost. The hospital will cater to all religions, communities, and offer various treatment options including Allopathy, Ayurveda, and Homeopathy. The center will also have a kitchen, theater, game zone, gym, yagna shala, meditation, samadhi hall, and a multi-faith temple. We will begin with 20+5 beds initially. We will continue to expand by adding more beds and facilities in the future to better serve our patients and meet their growing needs For patients suffering from incurable cancer, palliative care is a blessing that helps them live their final moments as actively and enthusiastically as possible. Your blessings and support provide us with the strength to carry out this mission.
Cancer Care Foundation Rajkot is a nonprofit organization (NGO)
dedicated to supporting cancer patients and warriors throughout their journey.
Our organization is engaged in activities such as
encouraging cancer patients, providing appropriate guidance, offering all kinds
of help both directly and indirectly, organizing various camps to prevent
cancer in children and women, and conducting de-addiction camps for men.
At Cancer Care Foundation Rajkot, we are dedicated to
supporting cancer patients and survivors through awareness programs,
counseling, and initiatives that promote recovery and well-being.
Ashwin Madhusudan Solanki, Founder and President of Cancer Care Foundation Rajkot, turned his battle with cancer into a lifelong mission of service. Once struggling with tobacco addiction, Ashwinbhai faced a life-changing diagnosis that tested his strength. Instead of surrendering, he rose with courage—transforming personal pain into hope for thousands of others.
From personally guiding patients during his own treatment to inspiring a 250-member volunteer force, he has shown what true resilience means. Under his leadership, the Foundation works tirelessly to prevent cancer through awareness and vaccination drives, support patients with treatment guidance and financial aid, and help survivors reclaim joy and dignity through community programs.
Today, Ashwinbhai is working toward his most ambitious dream: building Saurashtra’s largest free cancer palliative care hospital in Rajkot—a place where medicine meets compassion, and survivors serve as caregivers. His journey proves that even in the face of illness, light, strength, and service can shine brighter than fear.
